With RunFit MKE you'll put your best foot forward on race day, and every day.
How RunFit Works
Your journey at RunFit MKE starts with a complimentary one-on-one consultation that provides a comprehensive look at the current state of your health, physical abilities, nutritional practices, social support and readiness for change.
Whether your goal is to lose fat, gain lean muscle, or improve performance during activity, RunFit provides one-on-one sport and exercise nutritional coaching tailored to you. We coach clients on the research-driven, habit-based methods of Precision Nutrition, and work with them to incorporate nutritional practices that will serve them for life.
A body that runs fit will perform optimally when it is served a wide variety of whole, nutrient-dense foods. RunFit helps demystify nutrition, by moving the focus away from "dieting" and instead working on "diet." Methods are introduced in a pressure-free environment to improve nutrition intake without counting calories.
I remember when I couldn't run a mile. Here I am a few years later having competed in 5 marathons, 7 half-marathons and a few other fun runs. I do it because I said I couldn't. I do it because I have a competitive spirit. I do it for a million reasons, but at the end of the day the most important thing is I DO IT. Whatever your "it" is, I want to be part of it. If you are a runner, or a non-runner with the spirit of an athlete, let me help you get your body running fit.
I’m certified by the National Council on Strength and Fitness as a Certified Personal Trainer, and by Precision Nutrition as a Certified Nutrition Coach. A 2000 graduate of UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, I built a 12-year career in financial services before embarking on my dream to promote the health and well-being of others. My approach to personal training is simple and it’s the same way I approach every aspect of my life- I practice what I preach, and recognize that without health, life cannot be fully lived. Whether my clients are returning from joint surgeries or training for their next race, I absolutely love the process of uncovering each person’s unique goals and tailoring a program to reach them.
I’ve been running competitively since high school, so that’s 27 years now…. aaaand I just realized that’s a long time. While I truly self-identify as a runner and thoroughly enjoy being part of the running community, I also recognize that every runner is so, so much more. They are moms and dads, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters. They have professions and stresses and goals and they inspire others. I became a personal trainer because I want to help each client I work with realize their worth beyond their running. Making people happy makes me happy. So if I can help someone get a little fitter, a little more confident, release a little stress, or lead a fuller life, then my purpose has been fulfilled.
I’m in the process of being certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Having graduated with a Bachelors in Theatre, I tried out several professions that I hoped would fulfill my mission of helping others. It wasn’t until recently that I had asked the universe to show me a sign that would direct me to my purpose. And just a few days later I was asked to join the team at RunFit MKE. I found my worth, and I can’t wait to help others find theirs.
